Job Description
The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent team of subject matter experts withing our partner's Finance Division. VCG’s primary responsibility is to reasonably ensure that risk portfolios are fairly valued in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. In doing so, the team works closely with its stakeholders – senior management, business heads, product control, market risk, regulators, and both internal and external audit.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Performing Independent Price Verification (IPV) and Fair Value Levelling, calculate and/or verify Valuation Adjustments
- Identify and resolve pricing issues, control deficiencies, backup coverage gaps, and process documentation deficiencies
- Managing Valuation Control Analysts, acting as a reviewer and first point of escalation
- Allocating resources to project work and end-user process enhancements
- Performing internal reporting related tasks
- Performing external reporting related tasks, including compliance with the European Banking Authority’s Regulatory Technical Standards on Prudent Valuation
- Working with Front Office, interacting with senior stakeholders and leading valuation meetings with various business functions
Qualifications
Your ideal background:
- Degree in finance, economics, mathematics (or any relevant discipline)
- At least 6 years professional experience in the field of finance (preferred: Valuations, Product Control, Risk or similar functions)
- Knowledge of/experienced with/demonstrated interest in: capital market products (Equities, Bonds, Commodities, FX, Options, Swaps, Futures, Forwards)
- The ability to motivate and develop team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent English communication skills
- Stakeholder management skills, control-focused mindset
